Non Executive Directors

Mike Sycamore - Chairman

Mike has recently retired as a Local Director from Lloyds TSB after a 40 year career in banking and finance. His main areas of expertise were Sales Management, Management Development, Coaching, Training and Business Management. Mike is currently working on a freelance consultative basis for Cornwall College, facilitating workshops for Business Link. He is also a Mentor for South Devon Business Mentors working primarily in the Torbay area. Mike lives in East Devon and is married with 2 children and 4 gorgeous grandchildren.

Keith Tizzard

Keith has been a user of the Internet Cafe since it opened and a Member of the Advisory Board for a number of years. He joined the Board of Directors in 2002. After a period in industry, he spent 25 years at the University of Exeter where he was the Head of the Department of Mathematical Statistics and Operational Research. He has many years experience teaching a range of programming languages within the University and to commercial organisations. He now designs database systems for local businesses. Keith was elected to Chairman in May 2006 and works closely with fellow Board colleagues in overseeing the work of the company and moving things forward.

Sarah Stevenson

Sarah joined the Board as Non Executive Director in 2010, having worked for the Company in various roles since the summer of 2001.

Sarah also acts as a governor at her children's school and has experience of public and private sector work in the past.

Carl Haggerty

Carl joined the Board as Non Executive Director in 2011 and has a varied background ranging from Strategic ICT, Web and Social Media, Sustainability, Community Development, Tourism & Economic Development, Business Administration and Communications. Carl has worked in Local Government for over 15 years. He also acts as a governor at his children's school.

Julie Hawker

Julie Hawker is the Chief Executive and has a key role in leading the strategic planning of its future, with a keen interest in seeing the company grow and develop to meet the needs of more and more businesses, individuals and organisations. Julie has worked at COSMIC for over 9 years and in that time she has worked in a variety of management and development roles. Julie is currently studying with Exeter University on the MA in Leadership Studies. Since May 2006 Julie has been Chair of RISE - the Regional Infrastructure for Social Enterprise in the South West.

Kate Doodson - Business & Operations Manager

Kate is the business and operations manager at Cosmic, is a girl geek at heart having spent 12 years in the IT industry, many of which running her own IT business. Her previous career in Civil Engineering enabled her to work in both the UK and overseas. Kate specialises in Search Engine Marketing and website architecture.

Gary Ebsworth

Gary joined the Board last year (2009). Gary leads the web team in the development and programming of new web solutions for our clients. With a wide range of skills across bespoke and Open Source technologies, Gary is able to support clients in finding the right system for their needs, and is keen to encourage people to consider new ways of engaging online visitors through a whole range of interactive features. Skilled in supporting CMS, e-commerce, multimedia and knowledge-base systems, Gary brings an advanced level of knowledge and experience to all our major web projects.
